I picked this book up in the states as it seemed to have all the bases covered. It certainly packs in a lot of information. To the civilian some of the chapters are meaningless, the conventions followed by the US military are listed here and are of little use to the civvy bushman. Nevertheless, get past this and there is some really good advice, everything from fire to shelter, food to water to a bit of E and E (or SERE, if you are an American). Be prepared for rough paper and basic line drawings, for some reason I have never fathomed, American publishers are reluctant to use good paper stock and colour photos. That said, the irrelevant chapters on NBC warfare could, in a pinch, make excellent tinder. A good read. Oh, last thing, the section on mountain rescue/movement is enormous.
