TIROS optics performance by design
The XO's patent-pending TIROS (Total Internal Reflection Optical System) one-piece lens is the technology behind the XO's enhanced light delivery. It is the achievement of a joint two-year R&D effort with Optical Research Associates, the firm called upon by NASA and the US military to develop the world's most advanced optical systems. Firing beams with rifle-like precision, the TIROS lens delivers more lumens per watt at a greater distance than comparably sized lens systems.
