The sharper versions: TITANIUM a material developed for space exploration. Only half the weight of steel but about twice as resistant to rust as high-quality stainless steel. There is little wear and tear on the cutting edge, and no corrosion or discoloration. This material is very unique and offers outstanding advantages as a blade material when combined with a functional, ergonomic design. Join the connoisseurs who are excited by these knives!
This is the world's first folding knife featuring the newly developed blade material sintered titanium. Past attempts to produce a titanium blade have missed the mark since titanium alone cannot be hardened like steel, failing to produce any kind of sustained cutting capacity. However, the ZETA blade consists of sintered titanium powder, which includes extremely hard metal carbides. This revolutionary process offers the benefits that traditional steel cannot. Zeta's blade is 40% lighter than steel, will stay sharp longer than steel, will not rust, and is flexible. One more plus, when sharpening is needed, the blade can be honed on a conventional sharpening system (finish with a ceramic rod for best results). Although the overall hardness of this blade is rather low, the cutting power and edge retention still surpasses that of any of the high caliber blade steels currently in use based on independent laboratory cut test comparisons. Zeta features a 2 1/8" sintered titanium blade with thumb stud for easy one-handed opening and durable Delrin handles with locking liner. Weight is just under 1.3 oz. 3" closed length, with overall open length of 5 1/8".
