Boker USMC Force Recon Bowie |
This knife is identical to those carried by the United States Marine Corps during the 1945-1975 Vietnam War. They mark a moment in history and are a limited edition. The 19 cm blade is made from burnished Sk-5 carbon steel whilst the handle has an attractive and tough stacked leather construction. It comes with a black leather sheath with a pocket for a sharpening stone.

Excellent looking presentation knife. Good weight, solid blade, excessively thick on the reverse. This is not however, a functional knife in my opinion. The blade is far too heavy, the metal used not appropriate, the leather grip is laminated over with a resin and has a slippy glassy feel which is a shame. The sheath is a standard £1 worth sheath, probably to correspond to the period. The blade edge doesn't seem as though it could take much abuse. Lovely for presentation piece or to be framed.
