But since 1990, Kit’s most consistent selling custom model has been his classic M4™. In his usual unassuming manner, Kit says, “I guess you’d say it’s my flagship custom. It’s simple, with form following function. No tricks that look slick but aren’t worth a flip in your hand. I’ve made many variations on it, from exotic collectibles to working tacticals, in maybe 20 versions. But I still get more and more calls to make the M4.”
So here is the production CRKT M4 that you can afford to carry every day, anywhere. And while CRKT were engineering it, they decided to add some more value by offering their patented and exclusive AutoLAWKS™ safety which automatically actuates when the folder is opened and locked, creating a virtual fixed blade instantly for the ultimate in safety.
The blade is a high-hollow-grind drop point of premium AUS 8 stainless steel in a bead-blast finish. Both Razor-Sharp and CRKT's exclusive Combined Razor-Sharp and Veff™ Serrated edges are available. Developed by Oregon City, Oregon, knife designer Tom Veff, these serrations are wide and angled at 60 degrees to the edge. The resulting cutting points bite instantly and dig deep upon contact, slicing smoothly and effortlessly.
CRKT's heavy-duty InterFrame build is true to Kit’s design, with dual stainless steel liners, one locking, and a 6061 T6 anodized aluminum back spacer. Brushed stainless steel bolsters are inset with textured black Zytel® scales.
Finally a high-mounted pocket/gear clip allows low in-pocket carry.
