Schrade Tactical Pen

Great and valuable writing tool and more. It becomes perfect with the use of Fisher refills.
I just don't like the gritty feel when screwing/unscrewing (hence my 4 stars), apart from that is almost perfect. It doesn't look too much "tacticool" in normal environment, but try to keep with you at your risk if you plan to travel by airplane.

A very nicely made 'tactical' pen at a very attractive price. Not too overt, with attractive styling, a fine choice for edc and regular use in any environment. I was undecided between this pen and the S&W so visited Heinnie's showroom (very friendly and helpful btw) and put the two side by side and ... it's very much the same pen, obviously from the same factory, but the Schrade is slightly subtler at the tactical end so gets my vote.

Great pen, well made, apparently of stainless steel instead of alloy, but not too sure about that ?
Nice screw cap as opposed to the S&W's push fit, flawlessly finished.
feels nice in the hand, and with the Fisher refill writes great, anywhere !
No idea why you would spend more than twice the amount on another similar pen, just to get a more "cred" name on the clip, the quality of this won't be surpassed.

A nice little EDC pen, works very well as a pen and is surprisingly good as a pokey stick thing for when you're in the field. Very tactile. My only gripe is the absence of an o-ring between the pen and screw-on cap, as it is, it's metal on metal and it feels, well, a bit "basic" for lack of a better adjective. Worth the money, but i wouldn't pay more, nor for any other "tactical" pen for that matter and certainly not for one that doesn't have screw-on cap... this one does!
