Handy and low cost.

Great little tool for when you really need a sharp blade. Precision cutting is the name of the game for this tool, but it is a strong little lever too. As mentioned, blade replacement can be a tricky task, otherwise, great.

I'm generally a fan of Gerber as they tend to be quality with a basic cost. The artifact feels great in the hand, and once opened is as good a craft knife as I've ever owned. It is well designed, with a rest for the working fore-finger at the top. It also has the bonus of additional tools. As a model maker it's going to be a great tool. However, as a health and safety professional I ought to point out that changing the blade in this thing is a very dodgy task and you will be lucky to come away with all your finger ends. The release mechanism is very stiff and hard to manipulate, and getting the old blade out is almost as hard as getting a new one in. The danger is compounded by the complete lack of instructions in the package. For those who want to carry this around, it's neither a legal carry or a survival tool, it is useless for both, and explaining away what is effectively a razor in your pocket would take some creative thinking.

This is one great little tool. Comes with spare blades.. I don't think the blade would last long but its more for around the house. I put mine in my survival kit just in case.

Common sense please.

For starters this is a fantastic tool, I received mine as a gift and as such I do not know where it was purchased but the tool itself is great. My one gripe is the man in the pub brigade lecturing people about the legality of this. Please be aware that if you are found carrying a knife, it is at the officers discretion what happens, regardless of laws. By that logic, I would far rather be caught carrying this (a craft knife) than a 3 inch spyderco UKPK. If you know anything about knives then you will understand this.

An awesome addition to any keychain looks great is very well made but with two very noticeable issues, firstly as in the review above it is not uk legal due to the locking mechanism so i had to remove the blade to comply and secondly, its been on my keys for less than 3 days and already the black coating has worn off a considerale portion of the tool. At least the delivery service was good.

The Artifact is a great little piece of kit - I initially kept it on my work keys but have since moved it to a lanyard about my neck for domestic use too! Really handy, useful tool - bought an extra for a work colleague who loved it and will probably need to buy a second once the wife steals mine!

Please be aware that as it has a locking blade, this does not meet the exemption for a pocketknife in GB knife law.

An excellent bit of kit for your pocket, small enough for a load of jobs , big enough for prying . The bottle opener is great.Shame it does not come with a rust free blade.
