The Power Assist takes multi-tools to a new level. Start to open the main blades, which are available when the main tool is closed, and S.A.T. takes over to complete opening. When not in use, these blades lock closed using SOG's patent pending side release. Flip open the tool and experience the precision of the heavy-duty plier capability and large wire cutters. Smooth handle surfaces promote comfort on even the toughest jobs. While open, five other components are now available and individually lock open with the new patent pending Piano-Locks.You're going to love playing these keys! Also includes Compound Leverage™, gear covers, hex bolt construction, V-Cutter, and built-in crimpers.
Was very excited about getting a legendary SOG power assist and was very disappointed when I got it. Compared to my leatherman super tool it is all mouth and no trousers, notice how they don't show the plastic insert on the advert, wish i couldn't see and feel it on my purchase. The pliers mechanism is a lovely idea but I have no confidance in its ability to transmit the sort of force it encourages you to use. The blades and tools wobble, the power assist mechanism is just another bit to go wrong and plastic!! Why? no one wants plastic on a quality tool. The pouch is another problem, it has a plastic belt clip, this is not secure or strong enough in my view, but I suppose the more we lose the more we buy. Nice sharp blades and some useful tools, knife blade accessable without opening the tool is good too but doesn't make up for its many failings.

Quality Tool

This is a high quality multi tool. Pliers, gears, cutters, crimpers all very strong and good mechanism.
Power assisted opening works well and after a few goes you can easily and quickly open either blade in either hand.
Tools work well, although snagging between v-cutter and next tool when opening/closing.
Blades are sharp enough, but lack the quality look and feel of a good knife blade.
Overall a nice quality tool should last forever.

Had mine for a week now. Short on tools but tools it has are excellent. Pliers opening & closing mechanism is best I've seen. spoilt by having a plastic insert. Not sure what it's for. Blast cap crimper second to none.

Ok its nice to have 99 different tools in your pocket but 99% of the time you need to cut something first so after a year of ownership this is the Dogs Bo****ks of multi tools don`t waste your money on any thing else.
