Named after the rugged Selkirk Mountain range beginning in the Northern Panhandle of Idaho, the Buck 836 Folding Selkirk is a midsized folder with added features to help ensure survival in demanding conditions.

Featuring a brown/black CNC contoured Micarta handle and 420HC steel blade, the Folding Selkirk fits easily in the sheath and can be configured for horizontal or vertical belt carry. It features a 2¼" ferrocerium striker with a whistle integrated in the grip.

    Was tempted to buy one, but after lots of research and reading reviews on the official Buck website it turns out this particular Buck knife is made in China. Strange considering almost all of their knives are made in the USA. Wanted to post the review to make people aware before purchasing.

    This is a beast of a folder which feels great in the hand and doesn’t look to shabby either . With the build quality that is synonymous with Buck , this knife won’t let you down . Couple this with the top service and communication from Hennie then you really can’t go wrong . Im tempted to get another for the pair !

    Tasty - very tasty

    Having owned the Selkirk and Selkirk Small Folder for some time, I decided that "I just had to have the set", so I bought this to complete a collection, to be honest. Thanks to HH (as always), I received the package next day (great service, yet again!). Was not disappointed... As stated in the previous review. this is quite a hefty knife (which I also like), and there's an extremely satisfying click when opened. There's absolutely no play in the open blade, which gives me confidence that this will be robust in use. I like the feel of all three knives, in fact, and wouldn't be at all concerned about using any of them (though not much opportunity in the UK to legally carry any of them), and return them to the collection. But they are what they are - eminently usable and collectable. When I bought the fixed blade Selkirk, I (later) bought a lovely tooled leather scabbard, as the heavy duty plastic one didn't appeal. I'm a convert, now - it works well, easy to convert to horizontal carry, and far safer to use in the field - as is this one. Delighted to have the three, especially as the Micarta scales on the handles look stunning together. Highly delighted and highly recommended....

    VERY GOOD LOOKING KNIFE, QUITE HEFTY [WHICH I LIKE] CAME VERY SHARP AND BLADE SAT PERFECTLY CENTRAL. OPENS FAIRLY SMOOTH AND ALL IN FEELS AND LOOKS GREAT ,NOT THE BEST STEEL IN THE WORLD BUT MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR MOST TASKS . IF IM HONEST IM NOT NOT MUCH FOR THE SHEETH BUT ID HAVE PAID THIS FOR THE THE KNIFE WITHOUT IT SO NOT GRUMBLING. VERY HAPPY WITH THIS KNIFE ,I ALSO GOT THE SMALLER ONE WHICH WAS ALSO BANG ON AND WITH BOTH HAVING A MIRROR POLISH ON EM ARE NOW A VERY SHARP ,VERY USEABLE GOOD LOOKING DUO. VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY[BOTH] CHEERS H.H
