Arthur Wright Two Blade Rosewood Folding Knife

Another great knife from Arthur Wright and Sons and razor sharp for a change,Blades are totally centred with usual Walk and Talk on both blades,Barlow blade was sticky but after a good clean and oiling all was good,Only gripe hence the Four star rating is the Nail nick on the Barlow is completely hidden by the Spearpoint and what is that about!! Apart from that it's a really well built knife and should last a lifetime,They need to sort the Nail nick thing out though for sure.

Well made Barlow with good back springs. Mine came really dirty but after a good clean the walk and talk is really good. The only problem is that you have to open the small blade to get to the nail nick on the large blade. To me ,the nail nick is on the wrong side . If you have to open a blade to get to the other blade then there is no need for the second as you already have a blade open.. if that makes sense. Apart from that , it's a nice robust work knife.

As always great service from HH. The clip point had a bur which needed fixing and the nail knick for the clip point being hidden behind the pen blade is annoying and strange design flaw. This is apart from what I’ve mentioned well worth having and is a great EDC for the UK. Worth having in your pocket.

I bought this on a whim and then spent 24hrs regretting my purchase (how many knives do I really need? My various Douk-Douks, Bucks and other Arthur Wright & Sons knives all get plenty of use...) until it arrived. It's now my favourite. It's not slim like the sheep's foot Douk-Douk that permanently lives in my back pocket, it's big and bulky and solid and reassuring. A connection with the past. A traditional English pocket knife perfectly suited to my outdoor lifestyle. Comfortable to hold, perfect for whittling, with lovely strong backsprings that inspire confidence. My Douk-Douk still lives in my back pocket , but this is nearly always under my hanky. I observe the rule of three and so keep the tiny brass Higonokami on my keys as a last resort if the SHTF and I find myself in a tight spot and in need m of feather sticks or what have you. I totally recommend this beautiful knife. The second blade is large enough and sturdy enough to hold it's own. Despite it's bulk, the knife is perfect for all tasks no matter how delicate. A bit of work and a lovely razor edge is easily attainable.

A Wright and Son's are under new management and it show's. A superb knife for the money. Made in the UK to last. The back spring is stiff , BUT I'd rather have it that way making it safer in use. A wonderful, wonderful knife Get one NOW!

My knife in reality is much better looking than the photo .Not even the fact that its presented in just a plastic bag (no box ,very poor start ) stopped me thinking that this looked far more expensive than it was . On looking it over ,the wood ,the bolsters springs etc were exactly as you would want ,all good . THEN , i opened then Pen blade ,it was a bit stiff but manageable and almost sharp ! THEN i opened the main blade .....ONLY AFTER GETTING A PAIR OF PLIERS FROM MY SHED THE BLADE BROKE MY THUMBNAIL (and i have strong nails ) and no way could i open it without pliers . Once again the blade was almost sharp . I have lubricated both blades and opened and closed them many times ,i wore anti cut gloves doing this as the end of the clip point blade threatened to pierce my hand a few times . After working them loose ,sharpening the blades for 10min on Lansky box and strop i have a VERY nice good looking knife .Well pleased for the money . As with a lot of reviews on HH buying knives Chinese or British can sometimes be a bit of a lottery ,but HH do let you send them back if your unhappy .

I'd like to thank the Heinnies staff for their great customer service and lighting efficiency over a couple of Christmas returns. A fantastic job! This is a real working knife, my first impression out of the package was this Barlow is solid in every way that counts. Extremely tight backspring, both blades are rugged carbon steel, no blade play, the rosewood scales are very well done, no spaces between scales and bolsters, pins are flush, solid brass liners, bolsters spot on. There's a couple of small machine marks on the liners, one of the springs is slightly proud when closed and it needs a sharpen. A small price to pay for a hand made, two bladed, carbon steel work horse that oozes history.

A traditional knife with a clip point and pen blade and rosewood scales. I didn't have high expectations for the price but the one I received was pretty good. Fit and finish on my knife was good with all scales, liners, bolsters and pins all nicely flush with no gaps. The main blade is perfectly centred and the pen blade is only a smidge off centre, but well clear of the liners so no rubbing. Both blades arrived usably sharp and took a nice edge after a quick touch up. Blades are carbon steel so will patina over time. Overall I am really pleased. If you're looking for a traditional, Sheffield made pocket knife for a good price you could do much worse than this.
