Bestech Junzi Slip Joint Folder

Bestech Junzi Slip Joint Folder
Description
Junzi is a Chinese philosophical term often translated as "gentleman" or "superior person" and employed by Confucius in his works to describe the ideal man! We like to refer to the Junzi knife as the ideal knife for that "ideal man"!
Bestech are a relatively new company but with an extensive range of folders. Unfortunately many of them had a flipper to help the blade engage which, as you will know, we aren't able to import into the UK. Not only is the Junzi "flipperless" but it is also a non-locking sub 7.6cm (3") blade making it legal to carry within the UK at the owner's discretion. This is the only flipper-less knife available from Bestech, and is now available in the UK at Heinnie Haynes®. You'll not find this knife anywhere else in the world.
So what else makes the Bestech Junzi so special? Apart from it being one of the finest UK friendly carry knives we have, it also has a S35VN stainless steel blade (one of the best steels money can buy). The handle is available in a choice of four colours; grey, gold, green and blue, all of which are made from titanium with a carbon fibre inlay. The slip joint mechanism is very solid with a halfway stop.
The Bestech Junzi. If you're looking for a new UK carry folder, Confucious say "become the ideal man" and get a superior knife!

When open the handle subtly flows into the blade and back up to the point. Its light (obviously it's a titanium body). The blade is smooth on opening and closing and locks solidly into place - it almost feels locked with its slip joint action. It was delivered razor sharp. Just beware - the pocket clip is slightly tight. Good in that you won't lose it but it does mean with some jeans/trousers you need to force it onto the pocket
The only down side is that (as mentioned before) the carbon fibre inserts don't fit perfectly into the handle. But to be honest if I hadn't have read it in reviews I doubt I'd have noticed. It's a pity when you're dealing with a knife of this quality but it's also nit picking.
Conclusion - if you're looking at it, buy it, you won't be disappointed (Posted on 7 August 2019)

I ordered the grey Junzi late on a Thursday evening, and it was with me by Saturday lunchtime. Great service as usual! This had been unavailable for a while, and I almost ordered the bronze version instead, but decided to wait for the grey one to come back into stock.
This is a fantastic knife – not only visually stunning, but ergonomically perfect with the benefit of being UK legal. Great blade, easy to deploy, reversible clip – what more could you want? So I played with it for 24 hours and then noticed that top edge of the left-hand carbon fibre insert sat very, very slightly proud of the titanium handle. This was a tiny detail, we are only talking fractions of a millimetre here, but just enough to be noticeable.
I called HH on Monday morning, and after a chat with Ruby she suggested that I returned the knife to them if I was in any way unhappy. (Well, I wasn’t ‘unhappy’, rather more curious to see if a knife with a more perfect fit was available). So she emailed me a Returns label, and knife went back. On Wednesday afternoon I got a call from Nick to say that despite opening about fifteen boxes (!) all the knives seemed to be the same. I was OK with that, so the knife was returned to me, arriving mid-afternoon on Thursday. This is Customer Service on a level that most other companies can only dream about!
Anyway, to sum up, this is one of the favourite knives in my collection and certainly my favourite EDC. Having seen the overall quality I could be tempted to buy all the other colours if money was no object – if only! Thanks once again to Ruby and Nick and I look forward to buying from you again soon.
