As KnifeNinja reports the back springs are on the light to medium weight (especially compared to my made in China Buck) for opening or closing, but with nice tight tolerances I do not think this will be a problem. Overall a good companion. (Posted on 8 August 2016)

No bladeplay at all in any of the blades. no gaps between bolsters and the rosewood. The wood itself is really beautiful. There are some gaps where the backsprings don't sit completely flawlessly together, and there are some machining marks on the backsprings where it hasn't been completely polished. But this is pedantic and does not impede the use of the knife. the backsprings themselves are not very strong, and the there isn't really a satisfying snap when opening or closing the blades. But i don't think this is too much of a problem - all blades have what is essentially a choil, which fits the index finger nicely when using the knife, giving you good control and a safeguard to prevent the knife closing.
I prefer this to the Spyderco UKPK and Spyderco DK - it offers a traditional-style knife at a very good price. (Posted on 18 May 2015)
