The Fox Nauta Micarta is a very solidly built pocket knife. At its heart it is a traditional folder designed for everyday use and due to its cutting edge being 7.2cm and the blade being non-locking it is a UK legal carry knife. It feels a lot bigger in the hand owing to its width. The blade is 4mm whilst the handle is 1.62cm across giving it a substantial and weight feel. This version has micarta handle scales in a choice of three colours; black, green and brown. Micarta is a tough material that will weather extremely well and only improve with use. There is a lanyard hole to customize with your preferred colour paracord.

    Fox Nauta

Posted by Jez on 31st Dec 2020

Great penknife , also nice if you are large handed, razor sharp out of box also you can stop it folding on your hand. I’ve bought the brown micrata handle the finish is fantastic very high quality blade nice and thick under legal limit but looks a big. Nice to legal slipjoints look as good as lockknives. I’m very fussy and this a great knive, might buy a wood handled one too?

    worth the weight

This is a really solid pocket knife, a Maserin Scout on steroids, I like mu Scout but the Nauta just edges it. With its nerarly 4mm stock it won't be everybody's slicing cup of tea but a great EDC nevertheless. It has a good open retention but a very vague half-stop. This could be a problem if not for the finger safe ricasso. I feel I need to point out that while the cutting edge is definately UK legal, because of the ricasso the tip to handle length is a stated in the specification. I don't like trusting to luck I have reprofiled the blade from almost a drop-point to almost a sheepsfoot. Easily done and I like to think I have improved inproved the appearance. So not "perfect" but has gone straight to the top of my EDC rotation

    A Gentle Giant

Any folder with an overall length approaching 19cm, a blade thickness of 4mm, and a handle width of 1.62cm is always going to be substantial... giving rise to comments like:"Do you like me, or is that a Fox Nauta Micarta in your pocket?" Jokes aside, this is such a lovely, unpretentious knife with a size making it feel like a real tool to be used. It fits my large hands like a dream - which seems to be a theme amongst all the reviews. This is a 'big' knife at a small price. Well done Fox, well done Heinnie!

    Outstanding UK legal Knife

Posted by Mark on 31st Jul 2020

What a great UK legal knife! Shaving sharp out of the box. Fit and finish is superb. I have large hands but the handle is ample and not too thin. Comfy micarta handle The hefty blade is a great length for a UK legal knife due to the lengthy recasso that's not included in the cutting edge length. I love the blade shape, it's classes as a drop point as it's a slight curve towards the end of the blade, donuts not quite a lambs foot. Nice sized lanyard hole and no pocket clip, that is a huge plus for me as I dislike them intensely. If your in the market for a modern interpretation of a classic pocket knife you can't go wrong.

    Simply superb!

Ordered without any reviews, what was I thinking! Well I needn't have worried. This is a superb knife in every respect. The fit and finish on my example appears even better than the one in the stock photos on this site. I was worried that the blade stock at 4mm was going to be too thick, but I really like it and it's still a great slicer, coming incredibly sharp out of the box. The micarta scales give it a great feel in the hand. Talking of which, I have large hands, so the handle size is perfect for me, with no hot spots. The only thing I found was that out of the box, the scale edges on the micarta were too "sharp", but this was easily rectified by the use of a small file, which I used to round off the edges. The knife is superb both in looks and function. I was hankering after a Benchmade Proper, but the ergonomics would have been too small for me. And I could buy this knife in every colour configuration, for the price of the Benchmade. Nuff said...!
