It's a fairly flimsy knife. You can't apply any lateral load on the knife otherwise it will buckle.
The pivot is made from a really cheap steel and and needs constant tightening if not superglued in place.
As a cutter it's pretty useless, something about the design makes it difficult to use without it wanting to close on your fingers.

    I wouldn't recommend this knife!

Got this a while ago now. Other reviews have already highlighted many of the problems, unsafe sheath, blade could be much sharper, insecure blade both when open and closed and very weak handle.
It is very good looking though, more of a collector's piece, three stars for the great service off HH and as a collector's knife.
Wouldn't buy it again but as always can't fault HH amazing service.

  3. Dangerous knife - do not waste your money on itReview by

I purchased this as I wanted to try a UK legal neck knife, mainly for when out running. I would have sent it back if not for the hassle.

Firstly, and most importantly, its dangerous for its intended purpose as a neck knife. The design of the knife means that when its in the sheath the knife can unfold enough to expose the blade. Might leave you with a nasty, painful, and bloody surprise. Its only ‘safe to use if you place a band around the knife when its folded up. But you would be trusting your safety with a band. Meaning you will be thinking of the knife and checking on it all the time when wearing it

Secondly, the handle feels like it would break if squeezed hard enough. It feels like two pieces of bark screwed together.

Thirdly, the ergonomics are terrible. Its not a comfortable knife to hold and use. To stop the knife closing in the opening position requires a holding technique that renders any cutting action weak and useless.

I honestly can’t see a reason why anyone should buy one of these. I’ve thrown it with my collection but its never going to be used. It you want a legal UK option your best bet is to put a chain through a spyderco grasshopper or an opinel perhaps.

Top service from HH as always. But honestly, this knife should not be on the market.

The fit and finish is fine but could be better. The grind lines are really uneven. There were a few burrs on the cutting edge that had to be worked out. The handle is also quite flimsy. I don't think it's worth the money (Posted on )

I like this knife, but it looks better in the pictures than it feels in the hand.

Somehow, the handle just feels like it'll snap under a little too much pressure. The blade is nice enough, but it's let down by the handle in my opinion.

HH managed to deliver it in less than 24 hours (legends) though.

I always have a Spyderco Dog Tag around my neck and love it. When I saw this appear on Heinnie, I was interested in giving it a try, as it is not often you see UK Legal folding neck knives. The fact there is a lot of blade made me wonder if it would overthrow the Dog Tag that has served me well in the past. In short, it hasn't.

There is nothing wrong with the knife itself. It has a nice blade with a functional shape and decent steel. The handle looks great. I do like the tiger stripe pattern and the textured G10 offers a really good amount of grip. It is thin but not uncomfortable to hold and it also extremely light weight, you can hardly feel it, which is great for a neck knife.

Having said that, as a neck knife, I don't feel it works too well. The blade is not particularly solid when closed and I find it comes out of the handle too easily and when it is in the sheath there is a large amount of play that actually causes the tip of the blade to protrude out of handle if it wiggles about a bit. Not ideal when it is hanging in front of your neck/chest. I can't tighten the pivot screw either because, though it has a torx screw one side, the other is completely flat so you can't stop it spinning to tighten it.

I'd happily use it as a pocket knife if the blade didn't come out the handle so easily, but it is too loose and seems likely I'd end up with a slashed leg or hand. And due to it's size (and the aforementioned tendency for the tip of the blade to pop out) I wont be wearing it around my neck because, firstly (and quite sadly, in this country), most people would run a mile if they saw you pull this off your neck and secondly, it just seems too likely that it would end up cutting my chest whilst it's hanging there. If it was tip up in the sheath, this issue would be solved but as it is, I just cant see myself using this either way, which is a shame because it is a decent knife that has little else wrong with it.

So, sadly, this one will end up being part of the collection and not one of my "users"

  8. Not bad, but better alternatives for the money imoReview by

This is a very light knife (obviously, as it's a neck knife) so as a backup it's fine, not sure how much I would necessarily rely on it, but that's not what it's for.

You can get a UKPK for slightly more, and a Boker Plus XS OD for slightly less than this. or a CRKT Liong Mah for significantly cheaper, I would personally recommend any of these above this product. I like it, and will keep it, but unless you specifically need it I would consider other options.
