Just taken delivery of this little bargain. As you do with a new toy, have had a go at sharpening the kitchen knives. No effort and it's put a very fine, sharp edge on some very dull blades.
    Very impressed.
HH service is exceptional. Delivered following day.

Cheap, far better quality than you can rightly expect and small enough to carry in your bag and not think about it until you need it. (Posted on )
  6. IT WORKS! Review by

Bought one a few months ago. Gave a couple of knives a few strokes and thought it was ok for a small sharpener . Then dub it out last week and had a more serious go with it.. Glad I did. GREAT LITTLE TOOL . Took a little more time with a variety of blades and am now well impressed . Re profiled some with the carbide V before honing in the ceramic side. Others straight onto the ceramic V. Works really well. Especially with a couple of curved edge gutting blades. Especially pleased with the edge it brought up on both blades on my EKA Swingblade, where it really put a good edge on the curved gralloching blade which has an odd concave profile . SWingblade owners can forget 'flexible' sharpeners . This works really well.

Only criticism is weight . Please make it in tough plastic and reduce the weight.

Overall, a great tool to tuck away for sustained knife use away from Homebase..

I don't seem to have the knack with sharpening - so when I saw the price on this I watched some youtube vids and bought one. I already had the Gerber fixed rods thumb gizmo but this is even better and the click out diamond rod makes it very easy even for me to improve an edge. Maybe not the best for someone with £100+ knives and the time and knowledge to perfect the art but for someone like me with modest knives and not overly practical this is a very useful bit of kit - perhaps all I'll ever need!
As always service from Heinnie was perfect. If only every company took service this seriously!

I have a Baladeo EDC that won't sharpen in my Lanksy Sharpening System - the shape of the blade mean sit "rocks" from side to side as you stroke.

So I bought this, for that and for EDC. Simple to use, well made and, as long as you follow the instructions and have a little common-sense, safe and effective.

Very pleased with this item and with HH service.

  9. Get one. A must have if you got a knifeReview by

Never really looked at this style of sharpening as have a few stones that I normally use . However, this has now taken me to a new level of sharpening. It's very quick at sorting old knives out and removing many of my past mistakes. Literally from blunt to cutting paper in about 20 seconds. Cracking bit of kit. (Posted on )

Just the ticket. From revitalising old kitchen knives to giving my Leatherman blade a quick sharpen this covers all the things I need in one handy package. (Posted on )

Great price and well featured tool. It is quite heavy (compared with a penknife) but is worth putting in your bag or bag. Bleed medic is appropriates naming for this tool.

It has a good magnet to hold the diamond file in place but there is a bit of play when using it. I have to remember hold it still when maintaining an edge. The diamond file is fantastic and extremely effective on serrated blades.

The built in angles are ok to repair an edge away from the workshop, but as noted the carbide course side is very course.

    I would recommend this tool

  12. Keep one in your pack, its a no brainer!!Review by

Got mine with the knife and i keep this sharpenner in my BOB, i have done my machette on to my mora and even fishing hooks. Carbide can be brutal so i use the ceramics, but good to know if I damage my blade it will do the job (Posted on )
  13. I don't get this - seems to make my knives less sharp!Review by
    Rating
Maybe I'm using this wrong but I don't find it puts a razor edge on any of my knives.

My usual quick sharpener is a Victorinox Jewelstick diamond steel we got for our kitchen. Now maybe that just happens to be a great sharpener if I use that and test the blade, and then use the Medic, it's LESS sharp after the Medic.

No matter what combination or technique I use I cannot get a really nice edge on any blade with. it. And what I wanted it for was no-brainer quick sharpener. And as such it does not work for me.

Serivce for Heinnie Haynes was 10 out 10 as always, order this product on a Friday afternoon and it was in my hands by Saturday afternoon. As for the Lansky Blade Medic what a brillant piece of kit it is most have in your kit whether you use/carry as EDC or just when you go out to play. The first blade i used it on was a blade the had been given to me by grandad which he used for gutting fish and it had not seen a sharpener in years and what a fantantic edge the blade has now. Another nice little addition is the diamond rod that flicks out is magnetic and locks in to place to reduce the chance of you cutting yourself. All i can say i did my research on multi knife sharpeners and it has paid off. No idea what "ACE" is talking about in there review.

    Many Thanks from Durham Bushcrafters.

Just purchased my third blade medic, great piece of kit, have no idea what the review from "ace" was all about, think he must have plastic knives ! because this little tool is great for all types of knife, its well made and simple to use as well as being portable. All that's needed is common sense and a nice edge can be obtained on most knives, just use caution and grip the tool correctly and you can't go far wrong (fingers out the way obviously!)Great service again from HH. I like it so much I may get a second for my kit bag, thanks again to Heinnie Hayes for there outstanding service. (Posted on )
  17. Not Happy Wth PurchaseReview by

This "knife medic" ripped my knives apart and shredded the blades! Threw it away. Not a good buy! Think I will stick to the old fashioned sharpening stones as get a better finish and don't wreck my knives. I personally had a bad experience using this knife medic but that doesn't mean you will. I personally would NOT recommend it to anyone and only bought it because of the good reviews on it but my experience was totally different and I won't be buying one again. (Posted on )
  18. Great sharpener, Review by

If you are after a great sharpener that requires minimum effort this is it, full metal housing and locking diamond rod means it is bomber. Sharpened some truly tragic blades in under a minute each, that carbide sharpener makes short work of any gouges in the edge and the diamond rod is great for getting every millimeter of the blade.

    Fast delivery as standard!

Good quality well made sharpener. Use it on all my folders - have a Lansky puck for fixed blades - and it does a quality job every time. As already said only thing that would make it better would be if ig came with a belt pouch but that's being greedy and I won't dock any stars for that. (Posted on )

Excellent multi knife sharpener, solid metal case, not plastic. The diamond rod locks into place, so cannot come open by accident as some reviews state. The only thing that could make this better is if it came with a carry case, however I can easily buy one of these. Fast service as usual, ordered about 2pm delivered next day. (Posted on )

Service 10/10, delivered in top condition in 2 days. Well made, very useful tool for use in the field, as with all tungsten carbide sharpeners it takes a fair bit of steel if you're not careful. On the whole though excellent product and very good price compared to its contemporaries. (Posted on )

What grit is the diamond tapered rod on this sharpener?
A:
No measurement listed in numerical form but having one myself I would say fine to medium, as its for upkeep of serrations.
