    Gift for the old man

Posted by Leighton on 1st Dec 2017

I bought this knife as a gift for my father and he loves it. The knife is razor sharp out of the box and the quality is excellent for a really good price the sheath is of good grace leather as always HH excellent service.

    Good, but not perfect.

Posted by Jon on 13th Jul 2017

I like the design of this knife, but the fit and finish are a bit poor in some places. My one came with the handle not properly stained. The dark stain on the handle had a patch about an inch long of lighter, unfinished wood clearly visible. The QC guy must have been asleep when this one passed his desk. The knife blade is good quality though, with no imperfections or issues. The belt sheath is just about OK. The overall size is a bit on the small side. I have big hands and found the handle to be too small and cramped to hold the knife comfortably. Probably perfect for a child or young adult though.

    Puma Tec

I got a couple of these for my nephews. It's a solid little fixed blade, and safe to learn on with it's guard. The steel might be 420. Blade - 5". Handle - 4.75" including guard. Stock - 3.3mm. Balance - .75" behind the hilt. I like the SOG shape blade, and the bevel is good. Arrives with a nice little leather scabbard, and has a good snap. Money well spent !

    Watch the wood!

Posted by Andy on 25th Dec 2011

A nice, small-mid size Bowie style knife. Takes a good edge and feels sturdy enough in the hand. Nice sheath, too. Look after the wood scales though - make sure they dry out slowly or they will crack. A bit of Linseed oil helps keep the water out, too. Absolutely outstanding service from HH. I will be back and have recommended you to a few other knife nuts too.

its ok but more for show

Posted by mav on 17th Nov 2011

it came v sharp with a nice looking satin finish (that will mark)! I have average size hands and I'd say it's a bit narrow to hold hard when applying pressure! The guard is a pain. The grip wants you to hold it further forward but the guard gets in the road! Reduce it by 1/2!

Amazing quality for the low price. Very similar to trench knives used by the German Army in World War One. Handy size and satin blade makes good for tactical/utility/survival use. Would take it on active service: need I say more?
