Rui Rucker

Rui Rucker

Description

If you’re an outdoor adventurer, then you need a Rui Rucker. This fixed blade survival knife from Rui has some really neat qualities, and for a price that the average man can afford.

The Rui Rucker utilises 8cr13MoV stainless steel for its blade. This blade is nearly 13cm in length and shaped into a drop point with a hollow grind. Across the top of the blade there is a small sharpened edge for Ferro rod striking and gimping for enhanced grip.

The shapely handle has been made from G10. This is a great handle material, offering ample grip as well as comfort. The Rui Rucker also has two decent size bolsters which give the knife an added safety feature.

Potentially the coolest thing about this knife is the Ferro Rod that you can unscrew from the pommel. This means you can carry a Ferro rod with you ready for when it’s needed.

Avoid if you were hoping the chunky blade could be used for anything more than whittling.Review by jmarchitect

I bought the Rui Rucker as a replacement for my trusty Whitby Solingen steel bushknife for a weekend wildnerness camping. After exemplary customer service by the Heinnie Haynes team, I took prompt delivery of the Rucker and was impressed by the heft and feel of the knife when I took it out of the box. After camp had been made I set to processing some quarter rounds of dried hardwood for kindling. After a couple of strikes of a baton on the back of the thick blade, the pommel popped off, revealing an epoxy join between pommel and tang. A couple more hits and the tang came apart. I was able to paracord the handle together so I could continue through the rest of the weekend without the loose tang ripping into my palm but the knife has been returned and a replacement is being sought. Don't be fooled by the look and dimensions of this blade. (Posted on 12/04/2017)

Could you give more details about the sheath, is it belt carry, molle carry? It looks rather technical.
A:
Hi David, there is a lot of leather there but the two narrow straps enable it to be worn horizontal and there is a belt loop also. There is a pocket on the front in between them.
