Designed by Polish custom knifemaker Marcin Slysz, the first-generation Techno folding knife packed tremendous strength and utility into an incredibly compact package. The Spyderco Techno II continues this tradition and transcends the original design with even greater functionality and ease of maintenance.

The Spyderco Techno II’s stonewash-finished blade is crafted from 3.5mm-thick (0.138 inch) CTS® XHP stainless steel. Its high saber grind maintains a full-thickness spine for strength, while ensuring superior edge geometry for low-friction cutting performance. The refined, near-sheepfoot profile provides enhanced point utility and thoughtful jimping (textured grooves) on the thumb ramp provides an excellent purchase for maximum control during use.

The handle of the Techno II is constructed with two solid titanium scales precision machined from 6AL-4V titanium and sporting a handsome stonewashed matte finish. Both feature machined recesses to accept the knife’s deep-pocket wire clip, which is easily reversible to support left or right-side tip-up carry. The reverse-side scale forms the foundation of the knife’s stout Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism, which locks the blade securely open during use, yet can be easily released with one hand. Green-anodized titanium standoffs join the two handle halves to create an open-backed construction style that reduces overall weight and allows easy cleaning and maintenance. For end users who like to accessorize their knives with lanyards or fobs, the Techno II’s handle also includes a generously sized lanyard hole.

    Spyderco Techno 2

Posted by Chris Hewitt on 6th Jan 2023

Reminds me of a baby rhino, or is that just me? Expensive and beautiful. Satisfyingly weighty in the hand and that blade with those scales is a joy to behold. You can flick it too. HH, as usual, impeccable service. Did I mention baby rhino? I love it .

    Fabulous knife

Posted by Chris Holbrow on 22nd Nov 2021

My most expensive knife I own and my absolute favourite, this beautiful knife is fantastic and fits my smallish hands perfectly. The fit and finish is perfection and the knife flicks open left handed with a terrific thwack. I love my new knife. Sharpness out of the box was crazy and with a stropping it could shave a spiders bum with ease. Thank you.

    Cracking Little Tank

Posted by Malcolm Monaghan on 3rd Jul 2021

Another top knife from Spyderco's Taiching factory with M Slysz design. This thing is sold, Medford like, and is incredibly sharp straight out of the box, in spite of the grind and slightly beefy blade stock for such a small knife. Comfortable and solid in the hand (nearly 4 fingers) and can easily choke up on for precision cutting. The mirror stonewash blade finish is as the other MS designs - beautiful. Fantastic offering from the Spyderco. Just hope they re release the S Bowie in the original spec's. The action is typical Taichung - butter smooth and a joy to roll out, spydie or thumb flick with a satisfying thwack upon locking.

    Spyderco sabenza.

Originally released in 2012 the Techno was a knife designed by polish knife maker Marsin slysz (pronounced swish) it was designed to be a medium sized tank of a knife that though small was capable of "hard use" work. The Techno 2 is the same in almost every way but the blade stock is slightly thinner, its a different shape and a different grind. The original Techno had a full flat grind drop-point 4.5mm thick blade, the Techno 2 has a saber-grind sheep's foot 3.5mm blade, both have a stone wash mirror polished blade made from CTS-XHP the handles are made from solid titanium with a frame lock, and my most favourite spyderco pocket clip "the wire clip". The titanium on the Techno 2 isn't polished stone washed like the original, but is a very attractive darkened stone wash. It also has anodised green titanium barrel spacers unlike the blue G10 back spacer on the old one of which I didn't like, I personally prefer the green stand offs and flow through construction on this one, tip up right or left hand carry. Made in spyderco's TAICHUNG TAIWAN factory the fit and finish is first class, very smooth washer action. Highly recommended even for the price.
