TAD Gear FAST Pack Litespeed Gen 2

TAD Gear FAST Pack Litespeed Gen 2

In the five years since the TAD Gear FAST Pack Litespeed first hit the market, customers have used and abused them across the world in incredibly diverse environments and circumstances. They've worked closely with their customers to understand what worked well, what you thought could be improved, and how their Litespeed has become part of your stories.

We are pleased to release the first major evolution of Triple Aught Design's Litespeed platform since its inception. While they have kept the overall appearance similar to the prior version, it has been reengineered from the ground up based on your feedback and testing.

  • Universal Fit: The overall length of the Litespeed has been reduced by 5cm (2”) to minimize interaction with gear worn around the waist and enable the pack to fit a wide range of torso lengths comfortably.
  • Superior Suspension: Significantly improved suspension geometry and a new HDPE framesheet enable the pack to ride higher on your back. Newly designed straps and load lifters allow the Litespeed to handle heavier loads more comfortably.
  • Comfort in Motion: The back pads and shoulder straps feature new foam that provides greater cushioning and resiliency. New moisture-wicking spacer mesh increases airflow and dries faster, while also reducing pilling or abrasion to garments worn underneath the pack.
  • Versatile Anchors: New anchor points on the exterior and interior of the pack enable you to continually adapt and evolve the pack configuration to their changing needs. Capable of being used in conjunction with the TAD Transporter Tail and other accessories, or as a standalone attachment or compression mechanism, anchor straps make reconfiguring the bag trivial and enable easy field repairs.
  • Extra Storage: A new lightweight attachment system along the handle provides an easy way to attach bulky items such as a rope or jacket to the top of your pack for easy access. Incorporating 5m (96") of removable Paracord, it's also usable for other purposes in an emergency.

Long term reviewReview by

Ok I've had the litespeed pack in multicam black for around seven months now. Firstly it's expensive as is most TAD Gear but I don't mind paying extra for good quality and design and I have a lot of TAD Gear.
In the case of the Litespeed the quality is there but the design for me is lacking. I have a lot of rucksacks and in my experience there are better designed bags from the likes of 5.11 of which I have several. Additional storage solutions in the basic Litespeed are limited, leaving the only option of expansion via add on pouches. In my case I added the OP1 pouch and an RDDP2 dump pouch. If it matters to you it needs to be borne in mind that at this time pouches are not available in every colour and won't necessarily match (at least in the case of the multicam black).
Strangely the pack itself is quite heavy for what is essentially a day pack.
I am quite broad across the shoulders and I find that the straps aren't too comfortable unless clipped together across the chest with the small strap provided. My main gripe with regard to inbuilt storage is the small zippered pocket high up on the front of the pack, access is quite tight particularly when the pack is full and the black lining in the pocket makes it incredibly hard to see inside. I know that sounds odd but it really is like peering into a black hole!
Anyway despite all of these quirks I still use the pack daily I've added the sterile transporter tail on the outside which does a nice job of covering the OP1 pouch and I use the molle version that came with the pack inside to secure items, tablets etc.
With hindsight I may have been better off buying the Fast pack EDC.
As ever excellent service from HH.

Pricey for what you getReview by

Got this some time ago, I wouldn't say it's not a good pack but the price is way too much for what it is, the foam padding on the back is uneven on the right shoulder blade when it's against my back it's almost as if they'd not filled that particular segment, also one clip that holds one of the compression strap is reversed and although doesn't hinder the pack performance just shows sloppy workmanship, when off the shoulder straps curve out and don't lie flat, for the best part of pack it is well stitched and the material feels and looks like quality, but unless your a tad gear but I'd definetly look elsewhere like maxpedition of 5.11 and even Hazard4 they do very good quality packs for half the price. The perfect EDC bag... just expensiveReview by

I'm based at the MOD base nearby and I've looked at this bag twice at the HH warehouse in Barry and cannot fault it for its design, quality of materials and workmanship. My only gripe is price. I haven't bought one purely for that reason but I definitely want one...

Look online for reviews and pictures of the Fast Pack Litespeed. You won't be disappointed.
