Great knife, sheath is a little dicy

Posted by hexayurt on 15th Jun 2021

It's an absolutely beautiful piece of cutting equipment. Small - I have small hands, and it's maybe 1cm smaller than I'd like in the handle. The sheath has one issue - if you rest your finger at the top of the sheath as you open the knife, your the knife cuts your finger. About 1mm deep, not a *bad* cut, but a lot of buyers are likely to make the same mistake I did. I wrote to them and asked them to modify the sheath, we'll see what they do about it in future.

    Excellent for dressing small game

Posted by Vera on 31st Aug 2020

This knife is a pleasure to use. Small enough to wear around your neck, big enough to sit well in the hand (I have quite large hands) The steel is amazing. Out of the box, it is properly sharp. I've had the knife for a month now so it's seen a lot of use, processing small game; paunching, hocking, skinning and jointing. The edge is not dulled in the slightest. Quite an achievement. It lost a star because Ben in the review above is quite correct. It rattles in the sheath. Not great when you're trying to be stealthy in the field! However this can be solved in 10 minutes, with boiling water to soften the Kydex and some careful adjustment. Also why an earth would you make a knife that has the spine so beautifully rounded that it won't strike a fire steel? This is basically the perfect bunny knife. But be aware, it's pretty single minded and not great for working wood. The M390 doesn't like taking abuse and the full grind works against you. If you mainly work wood get an Enzo 70 neck knife with a Scandi grind. It's a similar size, a little lighter and will work a lot better for you! However, if you shoot and like travelling light you could not find a better knife. Many thanks to the Heinne Haynes team. Excellent service as ever!

    Great knife. Terrible fitting Sheath.

Posted by Ben on 21st Aug 2020

Lovely slicey small blade. Very sharp. Great grip and control. Perfect grinds quality knife. Kydex sheath very poor fit. So loose it rattles. Disappointing as I chose this instead of lionsteel equivalent because it came with kydex which is far more suited to what I need it for.
