    An Old Favourite

Yes there are better lights available. How many of these high tech wonders will last as long as a Maglite. It's simple and basic, uses proven technology. An expensive, usb fitted, rechargeable, 500 lumen gadget might let you down when you most need it. A Maglite, spare bulb and a couple of AA batteries probably won't.

Not cutting-edge, but robust and reliable.

The technology is a little behind, now, and you can can smaller, lighter torches of the same luminosity. However, you'll own this until you lose it- it isn't going to break!

    dependable

Had one of these ever since I can remember and although the old school incandescent bulb is outdated the basic torch is as tough as you will ever need, this will survive most tasks and environments that you will not! I have high-tech retina burners that I love but I will always use one of these as a backup.
